The bible says that God's loving kindness leads to repentance. The bible also says that he who is forgiven much loves much. For this reason the heart of the christian is filled with praise. Our love for God is nothing more than a response to His great love for us. There is something so sweet, special, and humbling about saying "I love you" to someone. When we are able to say this to the Lord in all sincerity, I believe it causes a revolution in our hearts as we are in that moment being transformed into the image of Christ.
JOHN 15:10 IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDS, YOU WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE, JUST AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHER’S COMMANDS AND REMAIN IN HIS LOVE.

verb sur·ren·der \sə-ˈren-dər\
SIMPLE DEFINITION OF SURRENDER
: to agree to stop fighting, hiding, resisting, etc., because you know that you will not win or succeed
: to give the control or use of (something) to someone else
- : to allow something to influence or control you
- Why are you running from God? Men run as fast and far and as hard as they possibly can only to grow weary and faint beneath the inesacapable shadow of God. Why are you hiding from God? There isn't a closet on earth that God has not considered it's every nook, cranny, and crevice examining both the person and possessions within it. Why are you fighting God? Like infants screaming, crying, and swinging every limb in a vicious tantrum while the father in all his strength, power and authority watches and waits for the child to wear himself out at which point the father will carry him like a doll to whatever destination the father desires. We are no match for God, how foolish and arrogant is anyone who thinks otherwise. Jonah ran from God, Adam hid from God, Jacob wrestled with God and in the end each of these men surrendered to God.
GALATIANS 2:20 "I HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST; AND IT IS NO LONGER I WHO LIVE, BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME; AND THE LIFE WHICH I NOW LIVE IN THE FLESH I LIVE BY FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD, WHO LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR ME.

Does the life we live today really require any faith? The bible says without faith it is impossible to please God. It doesn't require faith to wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come back home, religiously visit church on Sunday, sing, and listen to the pastor preach. Well actually these things do require faith, just not faith in God necessarily. More like faith in the bus driver, and or train conductor, faith in a car, faith in a boss, job, faith in a pay check, faith in the pastor, faith in ourselves and the things, and people around us. This doesn't require much, if any faith in God at all. When Jesus calls us to believe, to walk on water, to do the impossible, believe the impossible, to go where we've never been, to do what seems foolish to almost everyone around us how do we respond? This song is asking God to lead us out and away from our comfort zone, out and away from the safety zone we have built for ourselves, and into a place where we have to depend totally on God. Read Hebrews chapter 11, the hall of Faith. Does your life resemble this chapter in any way? When we sing this song lets be aware of what we are asking of God, and be available for his response to happen in our lives.
